从今年7月开始，多伦多市府在市内学校附近安装的50台专门抓超速的摄像机正式启用，这个称为ASE（Automated Speed Enforcement）项目实施4个月来，结果有很多人被抓到，不仅吃告票，还要面对罚款。
据CityNews报道，10月份是实施该项目的第4个月，50台摄像机发了近万张罚单，准确数字是9,719张。
多伦多市长庄德利表示，实施的ASE项目4个月来已经初见成效，市府将在市内个区另外新增50台这样的机器，本周开始启用。

罚单最多的是北约克一条路
上月发出罚单最多的是北约克Don Mills与Eglinton地区的Gateway Boulevard，从9月6日到10月6日共发出955张超速罚单，占了全市罚单几乎10%。
罚款最多的则是Eglinton Avenue与Keele Street地区的Bicknell Avenue上一张罚单，司机被罚$706元，摄像机抓到该司机在限速30 km/h的地段把车速开到了78 km/h。
此外，有604张罚单属于同一司机多次被罚，不过这比9月份的1,198张有所减少。有一名司机拿到6张罚单，而且都在同一条街上，即Bathurst Street与Steeles Avenue West地区的Patricia Avenue上。
超速罚单数量逐月减少
市府官员表示，看来50台摄像机还是很有威慑力，该项目开始启动以来，从7月份到10月份呈现逐月减少的趋势：
——7月6日到8月5日，发出22,301张超速罚单；
——8月6日到9月5日，发出15,175张超速罚单；
——9月6日到10月6日：9,719张罚单。

50台新的摄像机本周启用
多伦多市长庄德利表示，实践已经证明，市府安装50台抓超速的摄像机初见成效。不过他说，实施该项目之目的不是为了罚钱，而是促使司机们做得更好一些，在学区附近遵守交通规则，不要超速避免事故，确保师生和家长们以及社区居民安全。
他说，根据市府安排，将另外增加50台摄像机，于本周开始启用。
这50台摄像机具体位置在：
