1.buy a 1394 card
not expensive. < $100 2 years ago.
2. transfer the video from DV or digital Camcorder to PC. The format is AVI
(Many softwares can help you. Mine is Ulead VideoStudio, a bundle software with 1394 card)
3. edit the video in PC.
I use Ulead VideoStudio as well.
This is the most time-consumming part
4. Convert AVI to whatever you like, e.g. MPEG for VCD or DVD
Ulead VideoStudio also can do
5. burn to CD
Ulead DVD moviefactory is great help. Some ones like neuro better.
6. enjoy you VCD/SVD/DVD
(Be careful of video type, NTSC or PAL. My 1394 card can transfer PAL tape to PC too.)
