Thanks so much, Terry, for much needed information and guide! Not coincidently, that's exactly what I felt about medium to low Canon and Nikon.

Nikon produces crisp images but sometimes with a "tone". The "tone" is not always bad though, especially for a scene with all kinds of colors that don't really look well together. In such case, the "tone" unifies them, just like oil paintings do. If I understand your message, I think we're talking about a Canon EOS 10D, which presumably does not have the "blurring" issue you just mentioned.

The other solution is checking with Minolta, Olympus, Fuji and Sigma? What do you think?

Thanks again for sharing your insights.

            • 是。不过好象特别好的,纯粹的风景照里多是没有人的。给人一个人面对风景的感觉。有了人感觉也可能很好,但就完全不一样了。
              • 有一张冬景的,冰面上有个人的,好象是你拍的。那张上面的人好。上面这张人太清楚了,好像衣服都能看清楚了。还有就是
                好象如果片子里面有人的话,最好是跟景有关,或在忙着点什么,如果只是站着观景,通常会使本来很震撼的片子显得平淡了。--不懂胡说一下。
                • 很有道理,你说的是这张吧。
    • NIce -->
      • 回家路上拍的,有点晚,拍出来时看着不怎么好。去掉天空后,一做自动对比度,味道就出来了。
        • 这张经典,林中烟雾更是点睛之笔。希望看到更多你的片子。//又,最近你们几个聚会切磋了吗?祝好!
    • 看来北边的枫叶也还没有红透, 不过在朝霞下更亮丽. 是不是都要减档暴光?
      • 就是还不太红。加挡减挡说不来,我总以半按快门锁定曝光后的LCD显示结果为准来补偿。
    • 真漂亮。
      • Thanks!
    • Terry, you started with Manual SLR Minota right? How are you satisfied with your Nikon? 'coz your beautiful landscape pictures make me wondering whether an upgrade of my camera is an absolute necessity.
      • 是的,我以前用手动的老minolta,用过x300和x700。前年买的这个nikon 995,不是太满意,
        但相对于价钱到也不错了。nikon的dc色彩偏品,不如canon的色彩鲜艳。canon虽然色彩不错,但业余机型都明显对图像做过降噪处理,图像看起来不锐利。

        器材虽然不是非升级不可,但新器材总能提高人的积极性,尤其对于俺们业余爱好者,器材是最重要的闯作兴奋剂。

      • I've been hoping buy a DSLR, now Canon has a new relatively cheap model called -- EOS Rebel, in China called 300D, probably you heard about that, I thought the equipment still important.
