10d and 300d share the same digital technologies, say, the same CCD or image processor,
so they substaintially provide same image quality.
the strengths 10D has are the customer functions and a
magnesium body. Now there is hacked firmware on internet
for 300D, which enable 300d has most of 10d functions
by a simple upgrading.
I prefer 10d just because I feel it a little bit reliable
than 300d, and the black finishing make me feel more like
a pro with it in hand.
You may take NIKON D70 into your consideration. It has much
more sexy features like 1/8000s max speed or 1/500s flash
sync speed. By the way, Nikon digicamera and lenses do give
a little higher color saturation than canon system.
