本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛The first round of “Open Home” in our group (CanadianChineseParents) attracted 10 families with 11 kids
aged from 10 months to 12 years old. If you ask me what’s the
special today, I’d like to say “people”.
You may be curious about the special characters of these peoples. In
fact, we are ordinary families migrated from China. We live and work
here every day just like you. Our kids never know each other
before. At the very first minute, they even kept some distance from
others. It’s amazing. Just five minutes later, they play together
like old friends. Our big kids lead the team of children. They ride
the toy truck by turn, fly paper plane, paint whatever they
observed. Of course, kids are kids. Sometimes they may cry for
riding and toys. It does not matter. It’s a good chance for them to
improve their social skill. Sometimes they even could find a
solution by themselves. Our kids are also the bridge among our
parents. We know each other through our kids. As we become familiar,
there is no prohibited issue we could not chat. Jennifer and her
husband’s humor was so impressive. Some parents realized they do
look like “Feng2 Gong4”. Time went fast, our kids are sleepy, but
nobody wants to leave.
We thank Judyzh1998 for initiation of the idea to open home. We
thank Tanghong99 for her generosity to host the event. We thank all
of the families who bring their children together. We are looking
forward to seeing you in next round.
