There is no academic pushing for kids. The main Montessori principle is to respect the individualism of each child and encourage them to learn at their own paces. What the school is offering is the environment that kids feel comfortable for learning. Yes, Montessori school is focusing a lot on reading and math, but as long as the kids love it, they won't treat it as burden. As a matter of fact, my daughter loves reading so much and she never feels that reading a book is a sort of work. So don't worry too much, they won't get punished if they do not like math or reading.
