“…And they lived happily ever after”的结尾一向puzzles me. 总想看看What’s after “the happily ever after”. 这一次终于有人跟我想一块儿了。王子的到处沾花惹草empowered by the theory of “seizing the moment”,公主离开了charming but not sincere的王子,Rapunzel性情大变了,小红帽的姥姥和妈妈都死了,Jack的妈妈死了,面包师的妻子死了……但是,life goes on no matter what,面包师还在,面包师的孩子还在,小红帽还在,Jack还在。。。。。。
刚读了剧目说明http://www.stratfordfestival.ca/plays/woods.cfm:
“Special Note for Parents
Into the Woods is an adult show and may not be suitable for very young children.
BACKGROUND
Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine were inspired to write Into the Woods after reading The Uses of Enchantment, a 1976 book by child therapist Bruno Bettelheim.
Bettelheim argued that fairy tales were not just light, escapist fare for children but also powerful allegories of children's experiences moving into the dangerous world of adulthood.“
