my personal opinion:
1. 680K is a must, and CCD the bigger the better. image stabilization is also
important since using tripod is not convenient given active babies and mobile
situations.
2. zoom 12x is enough, although the higher the better.
3. watch the type of download port. make sure your computer can handle. make
sure you are looking at the port for download from tape, not from memory card.
manuals are usually tricky on this.
4. do not look at the specification for still pictures. if you have a baby, a digital camera
is a must. even the cheapest DC will be better than your camcorder on pictures.
