Old stuff like Louis Armstrong's pieces is everlasting, while lots of new stuff just cannot survive years, or even months.

none could copy or mimic Louis Amstrong's voice, he is so special, wherever we heard his voice, we knew it was him for sure

But someone did try. :) Last time i went to a blues bar in Chicago, one of the singer did an impersonation of Luis Amstrong, sang this song. He was not too bad.
We are so luck, the Toronto downtown Jazz festival is just around the corner, many high hands will show up for their own talents, and following up by the Beach Jazz festival, wow, too busy for the summer in town

I had been to both Jazz festivals last year. Honestly speaking, the Beaches Jazz Festival got more high hands from the States last year, even though the downtown festival has a longer history.

I just love them both. :)
BYW, the Beaches Jazz Festival will start around the end of July, after the Toronto Street Festival which is filled with Jazz as well. I just love Toronto for its summer.

I don't know, and I doubt there is one best Jazz Festival in North America, though, There is also a Jazz Festival in Ottawa, which I have never been to.

I myself love some small and casual Jazz performances as well, and I am pretty much sensitive to the environment around the performing area. Like the small one close to Logan and Danforth:

Now, the Beach area has been renamed as the Beaches. It's reported that local residents prefer to use beaches.

Another guy tried "What a wonderful world" in last year's Toronto Street Festival at St. Clair and Yonge, who was amazing, but still we could feel it was not Louis. The Blues Festival just happened last weekends.

Had you guys been there? I did. Unfortunately, it was so windy and cold that I could not enjoy the whole show.
I am a loyal fan of Louis Armstrong, and dearly love "What a wonderful world". The downtown Toronto Jazz festival will start June 23 (next Friday) and end right after the Canada Day.
