Fresh peaches are a seasonal luxury. Nectarines are easier to find and may serve as a replacement when peaches are out of season. Simply fork-mash when your baby is more than 8 months old.
Ingredients
- 1L (4 cups) fresh peaches, pitted, and sliced
- water
preparation
· put peaches and water into a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer gently for about 15-20 minutes or until peaches are tender.
· Or, in the microwave, put peaches into a covered glass dish with 12.5 ml (1/2 cup) of water. Cook at medium power for 7-8 minutes or until tender.
· Allow to stand 5 minutes before processing in the blender.
· Put 500 ml (2 cups) of cooked peaches into the blender with 15 ml (1 tbsp.) of cooking water. Puree. Repeat with the remaining peaches.
· Pour into ice-cube trays and freeze.
Yield: 2 ice-cube trays full
