The union of Greyhound asking 3% wage hike annually sounds reasonable. Most of decent companies offer employee 3% hike per year.

Greyhound Workers End Strike
Saturday May 26, 2007
The strike that shutdown Greyhound bus and courier service west of Ottawa is over and workers are back on-the-job. Buses are expected to begin running again Saturday afternoon after a nine-day strike. Employees at the Calgary-based company ratified a new two-year contract Friday with about 51 per cent of the nearly 900 workers voting in favour of the agreement.

Amalgamated Transit Union spokesman Jim Higgs says it's obvious the workforce is very divided. Greyhound spokesman Eric Wesley said all operations should be back at 100 per cent by Sunday.

The union said the new deal provides wage hikes of three per cent each year, and runs until December 2008. Higgs said other key issues, like contracting out and working conditions are not addressed in the deal.
