When one trying to do things for himself using his own money, he would be really careful and would always make sure that every penny is spent on worthy things. He would like to see less spending with more gaining.
When one doing things for others using his own money, he would be also very careful and he may only care how much he spends. Gaining is not important any more because it is for others.
When one doing things for himself using others’ money, he would care more gaining than spending. As long as the gaining for him is great, spending is not important any more because it is not his money.
What about government? Theoretically, government collects tax from people and uses this money back to people. They do things for others using others’ money. What can you expect? Do they care how much to spend or do they care how much to gain? Neither. Why we need to give them more money then? For something we cannot do well individually, like highways, parks, etc, we have to pay some tax to have a government to operate. It is the problem how government spends money, not the problem of lacking of money.
What is middle class? Most likely it is defined as people who have good education and professional skills, live a comfortable life, but have less social power. There are lower and upper middle class subgroups. A lot of Chinese immigrants have professional jobs, own nice houses and cars, and live a life style they like, no matter what you think, they are middle class people, period.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
