Palin's speech is not just good, it's electrifying. Here's a link, enjoy

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛We've all heard his dramatic speeches before devoted followers.

"And there is much to like and admire about our opponent.

"But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state senate.

This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word "victory" except when he's talking about his own campaign. But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed ... when the roar of the crowd fades away ... when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot - what exactly is our opponent's plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish, after he's done turning back the waters and healing the planet? The answer is to make government bigger ... take more of your money ... give you more orders from Washington ... and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world.

Victory in Iraq is finally in sight ... he wants to forfeit.

"Terrorist states are seeking new-clear weapons without delay ... he wants to meet them without preconditions.

"Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America ... he's worried that someone won't read them their rights? Government is too big ... he wants to grow it.

"Congress spends too much ... he promises more.

"Taxes are too high ... he wants to raise them. His tax increases are the fine print in his economic plan, and let me be specific.

America needs more energy ... our opponent is against producing it....

In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers.
And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.

"They're the ones whose names appear on laws and landmark reforms, not just on buttons and banners, or on self-designed presidential seals.
Among politicians, there is the idealism of high-flown speechmaking, in which crowds are stirringly summoned to support great things.

"And then there is the idealism of those leaders, like John McCain, who actually do great things. They're the ones who are good for more than talk ... the ones we have always been able to count on to serve and defend America. Senator McCain's record of actual achievement and reform helps explain why so many special interests, lobbyists, and comfortable committee chairmen in Congress have fought the prospect of a McCain presidency - from the primary election of 2000 to this very day.

  • 枫下茶话 / 政治经济 / Sarah Palin just delivered her acceptance speech. What a speech! Man, I never doubt about her capability. Just worried about the effect of abuses upon her. When the first sentence came out, all the doubts are gone, just enjoyed the performance.
    • Now I understand why so many people say Sarah Palin is the first person reminds them about Ron Reagan.
      • Of course you understand having a teen daugther sleep around and get pregnant
      • Republican VP nominee Palin called 'killa from Wasilla' by environmentalists
        • I found sometime tree huggers somehow also human haters. This is one example.
          • Just a ZT. Not my view though.
    • “ the dems say they will fight for you. Only one man in this election who actually has fought for you.”
      • That is John McCain who married many times and picked a woman now with great family value to run.... WHAT? Having teens sleep around and produce more babies outside wedlock?
    • The America I know is always looking for hope and strong leader in difficult time, other than handouts from the government. Sarah Palin is such leader they are looking up to.
      • Hope what? A corrupted value? Never mind.
      • Sarah Palin controversy stokes Mommy War
      • Don't attach other people, you can post you opinion why you don't like her speech? so we can learn it better.
        • Well, 拥抱爱的梦想 is now entirely attached to Sarah :))
          • sorry for my typo again. it is attack, not attach.
          • Cheap shot.
            • Sorry if that offended you
              i was kidding with -spruce(toastmaster
        • Too many ugly things. She still has an investigation going on. Just another far right wing.
One of the most disturbing thing: she claimed that the war in Iraq is a task from God. Sounds familiar?
    • What a great role model of conservative family value: having a teen ager daughter sleep around to become pregnant, a husband that's impaired driving charge, filtrating with a movement for an independent Alaska
and having links to the state's senior senator, Ted Stevens, who is now caught up in a financial scandal and facing charges.
      • ? Republic convention "花纳税人的钱"?
          • I kind of doubt it, show me the prove.

      • Slaming Obama with no realy content doesn’t make her a better V.P Cadidate. If she could explain why her Bristol starting having sex in so early age and having another baby soon would satisfy people a bit.
          • Not too 老道I am afraid. Palin’s daughter is doing wrong thing right now while Obama did it when he was young and had corrected long time ago. Which is really an issue?
Is it clear that any decent family would not allow their teenagers engaged sex? Would you allow yours to do so? Like mother like daughter. PERIOD.
                  • Well, if you take it as a pride that Sarah and Bristol are doing the right thing."Palin女儿的事根本不值得一提。" Join in them and enjoy. Good luck.
PERIOD.
                        • PERIOD.
          • OK, that means Bristol is doing the right thing. So does Sarah and the Palin's is really performing great.
          • Were you engaged in such an activity when you were teen? It's not about not allowing teen having sex. Promoting it as a role model and family value is totally wrong.
