That's the reality, sir. The USA is Canada's source of prosperity and protection. It has been like this since day one, and will never change no matter who's in power. If you don't like it, you should go to another country.

Canada is a strong US ally, and most important economic partner. This reality will not change no matter who's in power unless you detach Canada geographically from the US and throw it somewhere in Europe

Did I say Canada is not an independent country? It is. But given a small population and economy, it can not prosper without the US market and investment.
