Just after the heavy snow let up, snow flakes interlaced into fluffy and
soft snow heap; A long bench fabricated from steel bands, lay there without
any human companion. The color of it contrasted noticeably with the snow.
The white snow, dreamlike, aided the manifestation of meaningful void.
What has the empty steel bench experenced? What is he/she waiting for?
Side by side with the lakeful still water,
face to face with the devoid sky,
back to back with the patch of wilderness,
he/she weathered with the exposure to the elements.
he/she is just waiting, stubbornly, a person
who had a kind of connection and tacit, mutual trust with him/her.
When the day and thy moment came,
he/she was longing for bearing his/her emotional weight.
Looking through the accumulated snow, I saw the bench flecked with rust
It was the mark, of misery or welfare, bestowed by time
This bench may have witnessed a unforgettable love, a hurting farewell, or a glee of a long-waited reunion; Or the meditation and monologue in the darkness, the obscurity and aspiration in early spring, or the loneliness and retrospection in the fall, or the slight sadness accompanying the sundown.....
Those who sat on the bench ranged from to juveniles to the seniors. He was the passing traveller of the bench, because he would be carried farther by the time. He sojourned here and left the fragrance of his soul.
After the passing traveller left, the steel bench was covered again by the
fallen leaves, frost or snow.
More often, the bench blended into the dusk and parked at the beach of
the tiee river. He/she compete with the time, in waiting for a person
who would come by a ferryboat. Even the time grows old, the waiting does not.
It is empty, and only when empty, it accepted a generosity and infinity.
What else is more everlasting than the life with abiding waiting?更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
