u computer is not deserved to die; u firewall is doing the right thing. u have to do like that. Why? because you take sth from others for free and you must allow others to take from you freely. Donot bread this rule.

What kind of download? Normally firewall should not block port 80, 21. And check your firewall setting to allow the port you are connecting to pass through. Is it a router firewall or just a software firewall on your PC?
