枫下茶话 / 政治经济 / About this motion "Quebec is a nation within a united Canada", the more I read about it, the more I got confused. Appears it is a symbolic one, but BQ (Bloc Q) claims that now theycan demand more money and power from Ottawa. How do you define "nation" in this case?

As a Canadian now, I can accept Quebec to be seperated from Canada as along as they take their share of the national deficit if majority of Quebecers decided to. Why not? Thenwe don't need to have French on our cereal box, saving a lot of paper or manufacturing cost perhaps. We will have more machandise available here from the States. We have better chance to work for the government without learning French, etc. Then what are the benefits for Quebec?

I strongly oppose this motion unless Harper’s goal is to have Quebecois form their REAL nation.
