本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛We are planning to hike the renowned 100K La Cloche Silhouette Trail in Killary Provincial Park over the Thanksgiving long weekend, when the whole park turns into a magnificent oil painting, as frequently depicted by the Group of Seven.
A simple itinerary is listed below:
Friday Oct 5: leave Toronto early afternoon, get to the George Lake campground before dark (ideally), eat and rest.
Saturday Oct 6: leave the George Lake campground early morning, hike about 40K to get to the interior camp site H34 or H35, set up tents, eat and rest.
Sunday Oct 7: get up early to scale the Silver Peak (the highest point in Killary), come back to H34 or H35, break tents, hike about 35K to get to interior camp site H18 or H19, set up tents, eat and rest.
Monday Oct 8: finish the last leg, get back to the George Lake campground, and head home.
This trail is NOT an easy one. Even over a three-day course, it is still fairly challenging and demanding. Would only suggest to people in good shape.
Gears: 3-season backcountry tents (NOT car camping tents), good sleeping bags (-7 C at least), large backpack (around 80L), etc.
Currently, we have 5 people. If you are interested in this one, please PM me. Thanks.
