本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Banff national park, Jasper National Park, Yoho National Park, Glacier National Park, are in together. Drive from Calgary to Banff Town need 3 hours by Hwy #1. You need at least 2-3 days in each national park. Beautiful place there, especially driving from east, becuz driving on hwy 1 east of Rocky mountain is very boring, very flat ground, once you drive into the snow mountain, very special feeling. There is IceField Parkway,(Hwy 93) is cross Banff national park to Jasper, you have to read the guide park admin give to you once you entry the park ($10/day for each vehicle) thoroughly, you will get all beautiful points and then plan your trip. Otherwise you will miss 90% of beautiful places including lots of water falls.
For booking inn or motel in Banff town, Jasper town, you have to make phone call as early as possible, becuz in this season, if you arrive Banff town after 6pm, you cannot living there, no vacancy any more. But you can still get some motel in Canmore (50km east of Banff).
If you want camping, ABSOLUTELY stay in camping ground, lots of wide animals (moose, foxes, wolves, bears, even cougers) in the mountain, especially at nite.

    We plan to go to Banff in a month. Our plan is: take flight from Toronto to Calgary, then rent a van. We will spend a couple of nights on camping site. There will be no guide, all by our own. Anybody been there before please share your experience.
