So their parents can "enjoy the free health care in Canada". I guess not. In many many cases they want to hire house maids but it costs them too much for too little work. So their 70-year-old grandma becomes a good candidate to fit in. :-)
It was talking about all the tax burdens. You can use tax freedom day to measure that. In UK, the day is end of May vs. end of June in Canada. That tells Canadians are paying one extra salary for tax than people in UK.
