这跟牛不牛没多大关系.要看哪些产品还可以卖,像现在北电在中国联通和欧洲拿了几个wireless的合同,所以wireless裁人很少,还在招人.但是那个所谓最先进的opc(光路由器)因为没销路,整个部门都砍了.而且像北电这种只会大规模裁人就没其他办法的公司,我可是一辈子也不打算进去.

很正常,好多大公司在裁人的同时也在招人,不过你要留意,裁的一般都是高工资高职位的,招的待遇方面就没有以前那么好(仅限于一般情况)!

难道他们不愿意削减老员工的薪水吗?宁可裁掉他们,还要pay几个月薪水补偿,另外还要冒险雇佣新员工?老外的账是怎么算的?看来我还要很多年才能体会出西人的思维。

其实中国也这样。至少我们公司这样。虽然新人要花时间培养,但新人冲劲足,花的薪水少,可以轻易调动他每天工作13个小时而且还很有效率。这种状态持续2年以上,人就疲了,工作也没理由不高了,所以要被裁了。

60%-70% of last year's salary for hiring a same level guy. so most senior or junior hired last year lost their postions.

Do you know how many people had been cut in wireless before. TDMA.GSM, BWA, WDSL all were cut. CDMA 30-40%. one building had been vacated. In NT's wireless , only UMTS is really good but most R&D is in France.Now they just found optical market worse.

yeah,too sad UMTS has somehow become a beautiful dream. I used to be very into UMTS and 3G wireless. It was actually killed by this hype in e-business.
