枫下家园 / 家庭与子女 / 新生baby正常情况下一年内拿不到sin卡，但又想给他买RESP，想在银行买自管帐户。银行的人讲没有sin卡肯定不能买，但今年的额度会保留，等拿到sin卡后再买今年的，也会拿到政府20%补助。想确定一下此说法，哪位有经验？谢谢

银行里的人，不是个个都是专家的，经常是换不同人的说法都是不同的。也可以现在买（如果宽裕的话）让钱提前有个增长；也可以明后年买，把今年额度买回来。

my son got his SIN card when he was 4 months. But if he cann't got it within 1 year. They can extend to 1.5 year for your RESP.The agent told me. Because the government know, it's very difficult to get birth certification within baby 1 year old.

I waited 6 months, just get the birth registration, and need to apply birth certificate, which will takes at least 6-8 weeks, then I can think about apply SIN card-)
