ask your family doctor "why he want to charge me?", "why you introduce me a doctor that will charge me but not ohip?"I never have a family doctor. Every time I had health problem. I went Emergency room. The cost is I have to be patient to wait 1-6 hrs (normally, 6hrs is the maximum). The good point is I don't have to wait for weeks. The doctor will come to see me in no more than 6 hrs.
Once, I waited for 2 hours, doctor came to see me. Then he booked me a eye specialist next day. I guess, may be the ER doctor can get earlier appointment than family doctor.

其实是我得朋友和我说这个医生还可以，我让我得家庭医生去约的。他本来给我约了一个附近的老外。主要因为明年要搬家到石家宝，怕到时候回到现在住的地方时间太长，麻烦。

这Dennis Chu其实也收,只不过不像很多华人产科医生那样贴一告示出来跟你明码标价而已.过几天,他给我太太动手术接生,我太太几个月前就跟我唸祷要"孝敬"他二百刀,我说不行.我太太说,上次该给她接生的大夫因没给孝敬,这次,说死说活就不接她的活了..........最后,我太太几个月前,递上"冰敬",Dennis说,等生了再拿,我太太说:早晚都是一回事.他也照收不误.

我是他安排手术接生，没收费，还叫我半年后去妇科检查。挺好的。其实你要非给人家钱，我想没有人不愿意要的。只是我们不应该帮助助涨这种风气，时间久了，他也会觉得这是理所当然的了。

他也没收我钱。我是OVERDUE, 他安排催生也尽量保证生时是他当值日， 还告诉我根据经验我应该星期六或日生，如果周六， 是另外一位华人医生， 他会多加嘱咐他多关照。 周六果然哪位医生一上班就先到我房间打招呼。不过我还是周日一早DR.DENNIS 接生的。 我很感激他，我的两个朋友也是他接生，都没收钱

1.从没听说要生孩子了没人接生的; 2. (在加拿大医院)敢给你接生的医生你绝对可以信任; 3. 不该助长这种不良风气.

还是给吧.生孩子是大事,难道要自己到时候不放心么?本来生孩子就全家没有经历过,再弄个人生地不熟,到时候不管怎么说有一个懂的在身边,心理觉得安全些.

Most of mandarine or cantonese speaking ob in scarborough charge you nothing. Having a reference from your family physician will definitely help, especially for ob who're not accepting new patients (without reference).
