If you have a disposable income of 50k, you woulld save $500/yr; or 500k $5000/yr. Who would be richer? That would be a 5B shortful in tax revenues which automately will increase income tax.

This kind of criticism of GST reduction has been beaten to death during the election. Someone posted a very good analysis with the conclusion that GST reduction benefits the poorest. You are so out of touch with reality.

Average Canadian household disposable income is about 55/y and half of them have less than 40k/y. How much would they save? If income tax has to be increased, how much would they lose?
