Compared with Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou or other big Chinese cities, Toronto is like a small town, though. I myself never feel Toronto is a big city. :)

Ah? I think he means legally single people including those divorced. To me, those 相当于单身 people are legally married but seperated from their spouses due to immigration, divorce process or work.
