枫下茶话 / 政治经济 / Harper政府目前最突出的政绩：对Income Trust征税: Best Halloween Ever!没有讽刺的意思,我认为这个政策是对的,无论从市场经济的公正性上讲,还是从fiscal responsibility上讲，都是一个正确的选择。
他们违背了竞选承诺，而且他们会因此失去很多支持，但是我认为政府要做的是对国家负责，做出正确的选择，而不是受欢迎的选择。我希望他们能够违背他们在GST上的承诺，转而削减所得税。

Well done. When you need votes, you say no tax on trust income. When you have a hole to fill, you impose on it. The point is do not cheat the public.

It is naive believing their promises. Politicians are not much better than used car salesmen. The important thing is making the right decisions. This is a right decision for long term health of the economy

Right but not when you know imposing tax on income trust is necessary yet still claim no tax on it to buy voters, then say yes to make tons of seniors' retirement money in vain.

Trust me, a short term tank does not mean income trusts will stay low for ever. If they continue to fall I will buy. I love to feast on other people's stupidities. Don't be so testy. :-)

Harper is a proven liar in many ways. Trying to avoid critics for being against Kyoto Accord, Harper has canceled his scheduled meeting in Helsinki. Ironically, his confirmed visit to Vietnam is right afterthe Helsinki meeting which most European leaders will present.
