no. Only the money you transfer from abroad directly or the money in check format when you save it in China. If you save your cash , it is not "xian hui".

You can also have it wired(T/T) to your bank account. Transaction fee about US$20 on this end. And you pay about the same if not less to the Chinese bank.Usually you can receive it within 3 business days. Although you pay more to the banks, you save on the courior service charge on mailing the bank draft.

Not necessarily. You can have money wired to you account with any major banks in Canada.All you need is tell your relatives in China the account details:
Name of bank, address of your branch, beneficiary (the name you used to open the account). They can present it to the bank in China, that's it.
Note if you are wiring US$, don't use your C$ account to receive it. It will be exchanged into C$ automatically. Open a US$ account first.
