买数码的吧，1000可以买很好的了。省掉很多冲洗的费用。我有一Canon EOS5, 长短枪各一支，但现在几乎只用olympus数码了。Canon S30, G2, Nikon995都不错。

Ha, ha, I already have a digital one (Canon power shot 100), it is good and convenient. but in the same price level, in terms of photo quality, film camera is better.

不见得。胶片摄影的效果，暗房处理要占50%(我的理解)，这块是你没有条件掌握的。如果只在一般的店印4x6的片子，清晰度不如300万的数码(在21"纯平上看)。

I am using rebel 2000, good. But my experience is limited.Maybe other DX know more. BTW 1000 can buy Nikon F80.

I am going to have my first baby, want to buy a new camera, I prefer NIKON F-60 or 65, for me- a beginner, which one do u think is better? How about a compact camera, much cheaper.

If you like Canon, EOS Elan 7 is a good chioce for your budget, get a USM lens if possible. Rebel 2000 with a 28-90 (non-usm) lens is around $500 + tax .
