英文版的Vista显示中文太难看，而且TXT文档里的中文不能识别，有一些Xp下的小软件不能运行

没错，我的notebook自带的英文版的vista，可以显示网站和word文档的中文，但是字体很难看，TXT的全是乱码，CHM文档不能打开。可能中文版的会好一些。VISTA的界面是很漂亮，
但是也耗系统资源，我的CPU，Centrino Duo 1.7G, 1G内存，启动非常慢，启动后速度还可以。

我的也是英文版vista。看中文要设置成默认中文才好看，否则在XP下也难看

My vista notepad can display 中文, make sure you save it in unicode format.

我用的windows的记事本记得中文，保存时没记得有unicode的选项。你的vista是中文的还是英文的？

TXT文档里的中文不能识别？ what application did you use to open the .TXT file ? Word or Notepad ?
Regarding "有一些Xp下的小软件不能运行", usually, there will be some application that cannot be run under a new operating system.

I think I will have to try out Vista at the computer shop first before I buy it and I need to buy a higher speed duo processor computer.
