sounds like you'd better look for a IT guy to check it. anyway, battery is on board, 'clear' CMOS virus is a tough job, motherboard problem, don't give up if it is a new pc. otherwise, look for a new one.

It is an old one. After changing battary, it does not have CMOS error, but it still "Invalid System Disk" unless disconnect HD. 不论哪个插槽, 都是这个message.Is it a mainboard probelm?

yr quite handy. try to pull out the IDE cable and plug in firmly again. if there are two IDE slot, try another one too.

also, if there is any problem on motherboard, usually you would hear some beep sound.

No sound. After changing to another slot, it appears same. After changing HD, it repeats start windows, I use Windows98启动软盘.

possibly HD problem. plug it on second pc and run fdisk
