I would review my relationship after hearing it -- for me, "loving me as a friend" means that she/he doesn't assume any commitment in our relationship. I would ask myself very seriously whether I want to stay in this relationship any longer.

i think it depends. for example, many parents like to treat their children as friends. do u think they don't like their children? so i think it depends on its context.

i use this example to show that "friend" can be used in different situations. if friend can beused between parents and children, then it can also be used between lovers. many ppl use it because of the good meaning of it. it doesn't necessary mean he/she doesn't want to treat u as a lover.
