炒作腐败话题，破坏保守党的民意基础，拉保守党下台，无疑是自由党和许多仇视保守党的媒体的基本策略。不过，非常怀疑这种炒作的效果，毕竟这起事件发生在将近二十年前，而且，前自由党政府还因此吃了大亏，吃了官司并赔了一大笔钱。

角度不同，Own Judgement就很不一样。至于Harper，本人认为他太精了；整起事件要往他和现政府身上扯，实在很难。最后的结果，估计是耗费耗时，旷日持久，浪费纳税人的金钱，最后出一个无关痛痒的结论；自由党企图从中渔利，估计也是一场空。
