Bush's problem is gross incompetency plus some back luck (911, Katrina, Subprime, etc). However, I don't believe the blame should be assigned to the whole Republican party. McCain is way more competent, sincere, focused and disciplined than Bush.His approach of spending cut and off-shore drilling in the US itself will help reduce the deficits, and he realizes that the government needs to train the workers for the jobs that won't go away, rather than trying to bring back the jobs that won't come back. I don't think the democratic' attack on McCain and Palin is any kinder, it's even more vicious and personal. This is just politics. As for the veterans at RNC, I think they just show people McCain's patriotism.He has fought for his country in uniform for decades, and imprisioned and tortured in Hanoi for 5 years, while Obama lived most of his life out of the US mainland, and has little experience in any level of US government. I believe this contrast does make many people to rethink their votes
