Well, the effect seems to be obvious. McCain's speech draw more viewers than BO's. A stunning record. He did it even without the luxury fireworks, 2 million $ temple and $6000 suite.

McCain在成为正式候选人后,就用Public fund,有84m. BO选择不用Public fund,这样他就可以无限制地接受捐款. 所以他的支持者们还要捐下去. 不过, 看了Palin的演说, BO的支持者们心知不妙了.呵呵, 钱多不是一切, Palin和McCain的演讲朴素无华, 却吸引到比BO大搞噱头更多的观众.

哦，原来应该这么解读，我以为佩林一讲话，奥巴马的支持者全给共和党捐钱呢，至少不再给民主党捐了，原来还死心塌地。。。那、怎么理解这句英文：Palin draws 37 million viewers, just shy of Obama 观众是是比奥巴马的多(Onama shy)还是少(Palin 比较Shy)?

McCain和Palin的演说只在6个network上播, BO在10个上播, 尽管如此, McCain的演说的观众已超过了BO. 而Palin演说的观众只比BO少1million, 比BO的VP演说多了13个million. 要比人气啊, BO MS 不行.

很多人看McCain & Palin 的演说大概是出于好奇Palin到底有什么特别的地方能让McCain 见她一面后就选她为runningmate. 中间选民可能更愿意听听竞选双方提出各自的演说及方案, 然后再做决定.

I think you have a valid point about the viewers count regarding Palin since most people don't know her and would like to know her. but it does not apply to McCain's case. McCain got more viewers than Obama did
