Bush is inapt but he is not the one that caused this crisis. This really started during Greenspan/Clinton time when they allowed the financial market to deregulate and run wide.A lot of risky, toxic, worthless financial derivatives and securities were created and sold at ridiculous prices which set the time bomb for the current crisis. They also encouraged everyone who could not afford a house to buy one with 0 interest and 0 down in order to achieve their 'American dreams'. Bush's mistake is not to step in and regulate the market, because he needs the revenue generated by all these to finance his war. Trade deficit is not national debt, people deliberately confuse the twoFor example, China sells more to US and buys less back, What china got is a bunch of US dollars.
