可以。你这边要出一封邀请信和你的身份证明复印件。不过，不是说现在国内只要有5000美金就可以申请护照了吗？

That's very easy now. Your friend can just write your name and status in the passport applicant form. Don't need invitation, your I.D. copy or U.S. savings. My friend just got his passport use my name.
