按我的理解，搭车通常有三种标准供选择：（一下所用的数字是瞎猜的，没有经过仔细运算，只是参考。）

一、按公共汽车票价。相应路程内，公共汽车票价大约多少，就在这个基础上略减一些。这种情况通常适用于长途旅行或长期搭车，如从多伦多至渥太华15元，或每月上下班70元等。

二、按相应公里数的耗油量付钱，如每百公里耗10升油，油价七角每升，则二十公里的路程付一元四角。
