I think you can bring 6 baggages (2 for per person including your kid). That is what I did when I came to Canada last year

1. You could take 7 baggages for free. 2. The Wife take care of the baby, and the husband take care all these baggages. Exchange some CAD coins, and you can call a porter at the airport. It worths.
