thanks for replying, I have CFA, just want to have FRM as another bullet-proof vest when next crisis hit the industry ( I always feel insecured as the industry change in lightening speed).If I don't have strong math background, what other career opportunities available in this field?
I assume most risk analysis will be done on the company's existing risk system?

frm is better than cfa these days...more positions offered now for ppl with FRM and paid better compare to ppl with only CFA lv1 and 2.

如果你是学金融，经济的, level I 好过。光看study notes就行,利用下班时间，4个月就够了。2个月看第一遍书，1个月第二遍，1个月练习加补漏。

Personal comments: Level 1 is really easy, level 2 is the killer, level 3 falls in-between. Textbooks are for your knowledge, study notes are designed for the exam.I never finished reading the textbooks for all 3 levels, but I did finish the Schweser Notes. I passed 3 levels in 3 years -- I usually started to browse the textbooks after the Christmas, and then focused on Schweser Notes starting Feb or Mar. Tough exams, but you do learn a lot.....I feel proud of being a CFA chartholder.

To be honest, I feel disappointed for the CFA I exam this time......only a few of questions need calculations, most of them are definitions and you can just tick the answer if you remember it (don't need think about). This is not a strength for most of Chinese compared with local students.
